Nelson Mail article

Here is the link to Friday's article in the Nelson Mail about our sculptures. Unfortunately the great photo that made it into the paper is not visible online, but you can read the article that went along with it.

Construction begins

Finally the day has come. We have finished carving! Phew! I never thought we'd make it. We have cut it very close, and have been burning some midnight oil to get here, but WE MADE IT!!
Mr Carter and Ian worked all day, concreting in the sculptures and gluing them together. What a huge effort.
More pictures to come of the unveiling ceremony.

all hands on deck

Mr Wemyss popped by for a look, and got roped into helping design the "togetherness" pillar.

Planning the pillars

Ian came and helped us to plan the pillars. It was very windy but we worked in groups to sketch ideas on the pillars. Ian has taken them away to cut, and then we'll do the finishing touches at school next week. Thanks to Brendan for lugging the blocks around!

Time is ticking...

Wow! Time flies when you're having fun.
This week we are planning the sculpture for the school garden.
It will be in the form of some pillars that will have details on them.
The clock on the right is ticking away and counting down...........
